Some design tips of plastic parts   
  

     
  • Drafts       Top
    • Textured surface
      For any textured surface, the draft should be around 5-7 degrees depends on the texture pattern.

    • Shiny surfaces

      H mm ~50 50~100100~
      S1/H1 1/301/401/50
      S2/H2 1/401/501/60

     
  • Rib       Top
    The following design should be able to eliminate the sink mark on outside surface.

     
  • Boss with reinforced ribs       Top
    To eliminate the sink mark of the surface, the wall thickness of the Boss should be made as thin as possible. To maintain the strength, certain reinforced ribs would be helpful.

     
  • Wall thickness       Top
    For a perfect molding result, the wall thickness should be around 1 - 4 mm. To eliminate the sink mark, it is most recommended to keep the wall thickness as uniform as possible. Following is a suggestion to keep the wall thickness uniform.

     
  • Art gap       Top
    Ideally, when the top cover meet bottom, they should be vertically match perfectly. However, caused by the diverse molding condition, the dimensions will be more or less shifted.
    You can tell the "shift" from NO clearly, while it would be less sensible on YES.

    In this case, design the casing with a certain Art Gap would be a good idea.
